#5 Christmas Gift Box using Santa’s Sleigh (Stampin’ Up!)

Hi my Stampin’ Friends,

today’s Gift Box revisits a video tutorial from a couple of months ago (August 1st) for a Pretty Gift Box for Holiday Treats.  I wanted to make this again with a slightly different appeal and also a slightly easier design to make.  As I shall be making quite a few of these for Christmas I needed it to be less time consuming. I have added the photo below of my original design.

My Gift Box today uses Soft Sky Cardstock (Measurements given at the very bottom of this Post).  I layered it with some Foil Frenzy Speciality DSP, every Sheet included in the Pack is on heavyweight Kraft Paper with foiling of Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Soft Sky and Tangerine Tango.  Page 189 of the Stampin’ Up Main Catalogue.  I had to have a bit of glimmer for Christmas.

The Gift Box is made exactly the same as before, but instead of using Velcro Dots to hold down the front flap, I pushed it down into the top of the box, punching out a little finger hole to open it easily.

I used the Santa’s Sleigh Stamp Set and Thinlit Dies to cut a Tree using Tranquil Tide Cardstock and my Big Shot.  I made a little pot for the tree, added a red bow and gold glimmer star at the top.  I stamped the sentiment using Tranquil Tide Ink.  The red ribbon on the top was a piece of ribbon I had left over from last Christmas which is now unfortunately retired.  Of course, any ribbon would be great.

I love the new design but notice that my photo has picked up some of the red from the mat I used to photograph it on.  I love it and can’t wait to get cracking and make more for Christmas.

If you didn’t see my original design then I have added the video below for you to see.  I hope my post has inspired some creativity for you today.  If you fancy a shmooze through the Stampin’ Up Catalogue for more ideas and creativity these are available in the side bar, just click on them to download the images.
