Handmade Mini Cookie Box using Painted Harvest

Hi my Stampin’ Friends,

I needed to make a little Gift Box to hold my little Gift Tags with an Autumn theme in mind so I chose to use the NEW Product, Painted Harvest Suite available from the 1st September and in the Autumn/Winter Catalogue.

Crafting can be very seasonal in the colours and products we use, as I love to change with the Seasons.  It brings a fresher feel to everything you create, for example I love arranging fresh flowers as well as silk ones.  Silk flowers can get very dusty if they are left all year round and you just won’t notice them if they are always the same.  So in the spring, summer, autumn and winter I love to ring the changes.  That is the same for me in my crafting.

When I saw the Painted Autumn Suite of Products on Pages 48 and 49 of the seasonal catalogue I knew I had to buy it.  I love Sunflowers.  I made some little 3 x 3″ Gift Tags and created a Gift Box to put them into.  You could put a cookie inside, sweeties or any other goodies in too.  I reinforced it so it would be sturdy enough that I could make more Gift Tags whenever I need them.  The Painted Autumn Stamp Set is a two step stamping technique, by that I mean you stamp one stamp over the top of the other, this gives a 3-D look to the finished sunflower.  So much fun to do as well.

The dark centre is stamped separately too and you can, of course use any colour scheme you like for this Set.  Your sunflowers don’t have to be yellow and brown.  They can be red, orange, purple or any colour that you like.  After all this is artistic licence, isn’t it, being creative?  I am sure that the great painters, like MONET, didn’t always stick to usual colour schemes.  This is such a fabulous Stamp Set and I can’t wait to stamp some red Sunflowers, just because I can!!

I chose a piece of Whisper White Cardstock for the Box and decorated it with a piece of the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper, then wrapped a piece of Crushed Curry Bakers Twine to act as a closure, upon which I have placed my pretty Sunflower with a few leaves.  I chose the sentiment “gather together & give thanks” from the same Stamp Set.  I love a useful Box and this will certainly be well used by me.  I hope my video helps you to achieve this.

I hope you will be inspired to create your own Box.

Happy Crafting with LOVE from SANDRA xx

Hi Debbie, No I started out with a sheet of A4 Cardstock and did not cut anything off of it. It measures just a whisper short of 11 3/4″ but that does not affect the overall dimensions of the Box. Hope that helps. Sandra x

Another cute little box. The way that you decorated the top of it is so cute. I love it. I always enjoy watching your videos. You instructions are always so easy to follow. Thank you for sharing another one of my favorites things to make.
