Handmade Gift Box for TALL Candle

Hi my Stampin’ Friends,

My Sister-in-Law absolutely loves Candles and I love to give them to her as gifts.  I had purchased the candle from my Local Supermarket and needed a Gift Box so I set about sizing up the measurements.

I had recently been stamping with the Oh So Eclectic Stamp Set onto a sheet of A4 Cardstock to create my own Designer Paper.  Its great fun to create your own with any colour scheme.  I chose Melon Mambo, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink and Marina Mist.  They look beautiful together.

I decided they would be great to use as the Lids for my Boxes as I could cut two pieces from the A4 Sheet and still have a small strip left over to make a matching Card.  What a result!

I matched the Bases of my Boxes with a colour chosen from my colour scheme for the Lid, so Lemon Lime Twist and Fresh Fig.  My Boxes are a wonderful size to put lots of things into, for example manicure items, facials and creams, hand creams, a purse, chocolates.  I think you get the idea!   The finished dimensions of the Box are 6 x 3 x 3″ so a good size.

Boxes are so easy to create using the Stampin’ Up Simply Score Board and are a must have if you love making them.  The Board measures 13″ x 15 1/2″ x 1″ (38 x 33.6 x 2.5 cm) and works with Card and Paper up to 12 3/8″ x 12 3/8″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm) and is a complete system to flawlessly score paper for easy folding.  It includes a metal-tipped stylus, three place markers to mark scoring lines and a storage compartment for your stylus, markers and Bone Folder.

My attached video shows how I scored and folded my Cardstock to create this gorgeous Gift Box and die cut my sentiment “Life is a Beautiful Thing” which was taken from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set.  I die cut it using my layering Circles Framelits Dies.   I used the new In Color Berry Burst Finely Woven Ribbon to wrap around the outside of my Box.  It finished them off beautifully.  I love them and I know that my Sister-in-Law will too.  My only dilemma is which colour to give her!!

What a beautiful box and so personal. I love making my own backgrounds, sometimes I even scan and save them when I make one I love, because of course you’ll never make the same one twice. Thanks for sharing your crafty makes.
