Hi my Stampin’ Friends,
Oh what a CUTE POP-UP Card tutorial I have for you today. You are definitely going to want to make this design. It looks complicated but, it is SO EASY! It is such a clever design.
I have used the Dragonfly Dreams Photopolymer Stamp Set with the co-ordinating Detailed Thinlits Dies. They really are becoming my ALL TIME FAVOURITE. I love the detail in them.
To make the base of this card you will definitely need to use the Thick Whisper White Cardstock from Stampin’ Up. It is very inexpensive and there are 24 A4 Sheets in the Pack which will make strong cards you will be proud of giving.
Once you have scored your Card Base you will have four quarters. You will need to decorate three for the inside of the Card and then one which will be the front of the card. The hard part is choosing what colours to use, as of course with 50 Stampin’ Up Colours, including the White and Very Vanilla there are plenty to choose from.
My Designs use Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi and Crumb Cake and So Saffron with extra shimmer coming from my Silver Glimmer Paper. My very first prototype used Island Indigo, Emerald Envy, Soft Suede, So Saffron and Crumb Cake with extra shimmer coming from my Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper.
I die cut the group of Five Dragonflies using the matching thinlits dies and Melon Mambo and Silver Glimmer Cardstock for the front of the card and die cut the bees for the inside of the card. You could use any of the Stampin’ Up Stamp Sets and Dies to replicate this Card, as any of them would be just as fabulous!
When I was taking the photos of these cards to put onto my blog I had an after thought that it probably would have looked better if I had used some watercolour paper and used Soft Sky Ink to provide a wash to replicate a sky. Maybe this is something to think about when you make yours!
