Reinforced Box for Sietie with beautiful WATERLILY – Stampin’ Up!

Hi my Stampin’ Friends,

today’s tutorial was a request I had from a lovely lady in the Netherlands called Sietie.  The Box needed to be reinforced and measure approximately 17 x 13 x 4cm to hold 10 cards with envelopes in plastic bags.  I took up this challenge and indeed it definitely was, due to the fact that Cardstock measures either A4 or 12 x 12″ (30.5cm).

I sized up all the measurements and you will see from the attached video that it was a conundrum!  I am so proud of my Box and had to decorate it with a beautiful Waterlily that I created using the So Succulent Framelit Dies, which I find amazing.  They cut out like an absolute dream using my Big Shot and are my favourite framelit dies at the moment.  Mind you, I now have so many favourites!

I had to use two sheets of 12 x 12 Cardstock for the base of the reinforced Box and one sheet for the Lid and it is indeed strong enough to hold 10 cards with envelopes easily.  I hope Sietie loves it too.

used Pool Party and Night of Navy 12 x 12 Cardstock to make the Box and decorated it with the By the Shore DSP as I love those little Starfish on it, so cute!!  I used my Layering Circles Framelits Dies and the pretty Lace Doilies to sit my Waterlily on, you could say like a Waterlily Pad!!  Ha, ha!!

It is my intention to make a video tutorial to show how I made the waterlily so don’t forget to subscribe to Artypapercrafters.com to receive it in your Email Inbox very soon!

Very lovely! Any chance you could give the measurements you used so that those of us who don’t have the ability to use cm might make these? You are so gifted at making lovely paper crafts. Happy that I found you fairly recently.

Hi Patricia, thank you. I am pleased you loved my Box. I haven’t yet thought about the inches measurements, but I will try to find some time to do that for you. At the moment my Father is very ill in Hospital so I am rushed off my feet looking after Mum and visiting Dad, but will definitely sort out your measurements in inches when I can. Happy Easter. Hugs Sandra xx

Hi Patricia, I am working on an inch measurement for this Reinforced Box but as there is a lot of work involved in remaking it I have made it part of my Customer Rewards Club. This will help me recover a little of the cost in reworking the measurements and making another Box up to check it works in inches, as of course, I cannot resize it without making sure it will turn out correctly. All customers will receive a Worksheet at the end of the month with all the details of how to make it in the inches measurements. I do have a fantastic Customer VIP Rewards Club where I send out a handmade card, gift and a Stampin’ Up Product if customers have also added my Hostess Code as well. Thanks you very much. My Father was rushed to Hospital again this week and it has been so busy helping Mum and visiting Dad. Hugs Sandra xx

Hi Sandra….I was just following this thread…re: an ‘inches’ measurement for this beautiful gift/card box. I watched your YT tutorial and have subscribed to your blog email….so hopefully I can also get in on the tutorial about how you made that beautiful water lily. I love the idea of a larger gift box for more cards to fit in. So many possibilities with the gorgeous Stampin’ Up products available!! Take care…and thanks for all your wonderful videos and projects you share. PS…I live in Canada and am a SU Independent Consultant over here….more of a hobbyist at this point…but still love all the product and seem to be my best customer!! 🙂 I sure hope your Papa is on the mend soon.

What a beautiful project Sandra, thank you for sharing.
I will definitely give this a try 🙂
Sorry to read about your family illness.
When you are able to have an inch measurement that will be wonderful.
I have a score pal in inches so it makes it a lot easier when tutorials are in inches.
    Kind Regards
    Denise
