Elegant Gift Bags Beautiful You – Stampin’ Up!

(There is only one more week of Sale-a-Bration left now to take advantage of the Sale-a-Bration Offers – ends 31st March 2017)

Hi my Stampin’ Friends,

I can’t believe we will soon be going into April.  The year seems to be going to quick and its great that we are now going into warmer weather.  I love it when I can get out in the garden.  I am sure you are all taking the opportunity too to get out and about.

I wanted to make some elegant Birthday Cards with my Beautiful You Stamp Set and after some measuring and scoring using soft muted Cardstock tones which were Pink Pirouette, Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo and Tempting Turquoise I had made three different designs using all three images from the Set.  I love those sentiments in the set too.

However, I was just getting into bed that same evening and I saw my Little Black Dress hanging on my wardrobe doors.  Wow, I thought, cards with little black dresses!  What a fabulous idea!  The next morning I couldn’t wait to make a start on my new Birthday Card designs which then lead on to, my matching Elegant Gift Bags!  Who doesn’t love a Gift Bag.

So my Gift Bags were another one of those light bulb moments, as they say! I hadn’t used my Beautiful You Stamp Set for some reason I can’t quite believe, does that happen to you?  Anyway, I am so pleased I got it out to play. So I played around with some measurements and the Lots of Labels Framelits Dies and these Gift Bags were the result.

I had heard of paper piecing and this was done recently by Jan Brown of JanBCards.com should you wish to see her tutorial.  I worked out how to do this by my own trial and error, as my Designer Paper had to have a small scale pattern.  Then I remembered my Pop of Pink Speciality Designer Paper had small scale designs on them.  Ooh FAB!

I found it very therapeutic to cut out these little paper patterns to fit onto these ladies and it reminds me of my dressmaking days and cutting out paper patterns, as well as from my childhood days when we used to have those Books with Young Ladies made from cardboard that you had to cut out, along with their groovy clothes which had tabs on so they would fit over your cardboard cut out.  Those were the days!!

Anyway, I am very pleased with my Stylish Gift Bags and their elegant Lots of Labels die cut closures.  Those Velcro dots were so inspired.  I can fit lots of treats inside too!  That Melon Mambo 1/8″ ribbon goes perfectly with my Black and Melon Mambo Cardstock too.

I hope you enjoyed this project and video tutorial.  Please do use the hostess code to get free product (hostess code shown at the top right hand corner of this post).  If your order is over £150, please do not use this code as you become the hostess and get the Rewards.
