Hi my Stampin’ Friends,
Welcome to a new feature of mine showcasing tutorials which use a particular Stamp Set. This series will feature the Big on Birthdays Photopolymer Stamp Set. There are some gorgeous images in this set, but I have to admit I am not keen on the image that says “at least you’re still pretty”. I mean who could you send that card too? I just wouldn’t dare send that sentiment to anyone! Apparently it is to do with a funny comment that “you might be old, but you are still pretty”. Well, I don’t know what Stampin’ Up were thinking when they made it, but please!!!
Anyway, this Stamp Set has some big images just absolutely perfect for Birthdays and I think you can still do something with that image, you know, the one I was just talking about. I love the beautiful floral framework so I am thinking cover up the sentiment with a flower or something like that. That would work, wouldn’t it. So stay tuned and I will show you my tutorial for this coming very soon.
On the card I have used a piece of Blushing Bride Cardstock and stamped the beautiful spray of flowers using Blushing Bride Ink and layered it up with a piece of the Pop of Paradise Speciality DSP, then a piece of Melon Mambo Cardstock and stamped my big old image using Black Archival Ink onto some Whisper White Cardstock. I used my Stampin’ Write markers to colour in the spray of flowers. Gorgeous! I added a few pearls for that extra something.
I also added a piece of Whisper White to the middle of my greeting and stamped it in the corners with the same spray of flowers using Blushing Bride Ink and used the sentiments “It’s your Day and Eat Cake” (Ooh loverly!). Blushing Bride Cardstock cut at 8 1/4 x 5 3/4″ scored on the long side at 4 1/8″ and folded in half.
Pop of Paradise DSP cut at 4 7/8″ x 3 1/8″
Melon Mambo Cardstock cut at 4 3/8 x 2 5/8″
Whisper White Cardstock for sentiment 4 1/4 x 2 1/2″
